Check out my weekly poll question.
I was just thinking, when was the last time that I watched something on video, rather than DVD or online. In fact, we just had all our VHS videos stored away for a year. Now I'm getting them out and thinking, do I even still have a VCR?
Check back for results and a new question next week.

Kyle and I just got out the VCR about 4 weeks ago and watched all the old Indiana Jones movies. We felt like were were going back in time.
I have always been a closet VHS advocate and never voiced my opinion for fear of all the names I would be called but I guess now is the time. THE VHS TAPE IS SUPERIOR. Videos from forever ago still play perfectly where as an innocenct child or clumsy adult can damage the weaker and inferior DVD with a single scratch never to work again. So all hail the VHS. That is my 2 cents. We still sport such VHS's as Wayne's World and Army of Darkness. Kyle
DANA!!! Oh my gosh it's been forever...how are you? Three kids and a dog??? Wow!! That is crazy, but congratulations, last I heard you were married with one...time flies!! Your family is gorgeous!! I am in love with the dark curly hair all your babies have...adorable! My blog is really pathetic, I spend alot more time of facebook, but I would love to hear how you are doing!!!
Hey!! Shanah gave me your blog address and I'm so glad!! I have always wondered what you were up to so this blog thing is pretty nice! Chicago is good! We live right downtown and Ben is doing an internship for a law firm and I am nannying for a family in the burbs during the week so we are staying busy. We will be back in Provo for one more year of school in Aug, but it is a fun little summer adventure! Thanks for the tip on the backgrounds, I really have no clue what I am doing :) What does your husband do? How did you guys meet anyway? Did you get married before I did? I am so glad I found you! :)
Kyle, I'm glad you stick up for your beliefs. Very good point there. But what happens when you watch a VHS over and over? It becomes faded, can skip at times. The evidence would be my star wars trilogy on VHS.

That is hilarious...I totally understand though I am so pathetic that I want to read them again just so I can keep myself busy waiting for Breaking Dawn haha. I read it so fast the first time cause I had to see what happened I felt like I needed to read it again too! I think I'm gonna read The Host...I hear it is pretty good. I've read the chapter on her website and I was dying to read more cause that isn't even the good part you know? I really hope she ends up publishing it! Are you guys doing anything fun for your five year anniversary?
This is Shane typing, not Amy Jo. A while ago we were at a garage sale and picked up some classic titles in VHS (Happy Gilmore and Dumb & Dumber). I was excited to re-live some of the greatest moments in film history. To my extreme disappointment, they both had serious streak issues from the tapes being worn out. That was the day I drew the line in the sand against VHS.
Here's my other issue with VHS: recording TV. Sure, it can do it, but you have to manually set it to record a specific time and even then you can't watch the program until it's done recording. Tivo and DVR will record every episode of the Office for you with one button and you can watch it while it records; pause and rewind live TV.
Sorry Kyle, I have to say that VHS had its day (Beta never even had that) - but it's time to move on. Call me and I'll help you convert those classics into digital. :)
Good addition shane. I think the Tivo DVR comment puts everything in its place. Soon we will be having this conversation about DVD vs. Digital memory. What will be next.
