With the warm weather comes other things, like humidity...(and bugs)

Check out what it did to Lilia's hair!!!!

Eva loves dress up clothes lately. She'd wear them out of the house if I let her.

I made a comment about a not so great picture I took of Colby. It's hilarious.

86 degrees

Hello friends in a cold weather climate. Let me tell you about today Feb 27th. It was humid this morning and I had condensation on my windshield, totally couldn't see until turned on the windshield wipers. Really annoying right? At work today my office was just the right temperature, which is really odd, because usually it is freezing because the AC was cranking. At lunch I went out to meet Dana and the kids at Costco, but totally forgot to crack my windows went I went in the office in the morning, so it was kind of hot in the car. I checked the thermometer in my car and it said it was 86 out. Wow, it made me feel like summer is on its way.
It was pretty warm in the house when I got home, so we had to crack all the windows to let some fresh air in and cool the place off tonight.

So the grass is still pretty brown, so the kids and I went to walmart(I don't know how Dana goes to the store alone with the kids) and got a new garden hose and some sprinklers to get some water going on the lawn. Don't want it burning up this time of year. And they didn't have the fertilizer I wanted, dang it, guess I will have to stop by Lowes tomorrow.

Don't hate me because I am awesome (think of Barney Stinson when you read that, and I don't really expect any of you to know who Barney Stinson is, just think of the most awesome guy ever, that is who he is. Like Napoleon Dynamite on some kind of awesomeness drug).

I know, I know. You all will be loving life come April when the weather is perfect and I am having major pit sweat outs in the heat and humidity. But you know, you got to take your shots when you can get them.

Jason (just to clarify who is posting this)

My 77 Votes

The amazing Normund(Norman) Gentle got my 77 votes, no really. I sat on the phone after the show and pressed talk, redial, "thanks for voting for contestant # 4, watch American idol tomorrow night on fox sponsored by AT&T", and hangup 77 times. Just like a teenage girl would for David Archuleta. It was great, but it was hard to keep track of my call count and watch the new star wars clone wars animated series at the same time. That General Grevious is a riot. So I wonder if anyone googled Normund Gentle and scrolled down far enough on the google results, like result 300,000 if they would see this blog post, and say, yup, that is exactly the kind of person I would expect to vote for Normund.....Random thoughts.

To All My Friends in Boise...

.
http://www.tinalelainephotography.com/

I just had to share that website. One of my best friends just launched it and she's pretty freakin' incredible at what she does!!! She is a big BIG reason I miss Boise so much. Mostly because she's so much fun to be with, but also because she's making it big and I'm not there to take advantage of her photography skills. So sad. (But some day I'll be back and make up for it Tina.:) We're going to Idaho for a visit this summer (WAHOO!) and I've already set up a tentative family shoot. Anywho....if you or anyone you know needs some pictures taken, well...see for yourselves! :)

Here we are, both pregnant with our first babies and due 4 days apart. Those were some fun times.

Why Toddlers are the best

So I whine and complain about picking up after the kids, no time for ourselves, diapers, diapers, and more diapers, potty training, stuff getting broken, food fights, coloring with crayons on the walls, finger smudges on the windows, etc, etc, etc. And sometimes I think I just cant wait until they get older and life will be easier. Ya right.

But lately I've been thinking about how this really is the greatest time in my life with kids.
Some reasons:
-You are your kids best friends.
-You are your kids hero's.
-Even when they get in trouble, they just want you to hold them.
-Band aids make any boo-boo feel better, even the ones that require a cast.
-Excuses to watch Disney movies.
-Apple juice is the answer to any of life's problems.
-You remember that sometimes it is fun to sit on the floor and pretend you are an animal or monster.
-They make a minivan cool.(We are stretching on this one).
-Their first offense is a dirty look, second offense a raise of the voice, third offense is a timeout, and problem solved. No court appearance, detention, grounding, or other punishment required.
-You don't worry about who they are hanging out with or what they are doing away from home.
-Their innocence.
-Hot wheels and dolls.
-The backyard is an adventure, not a chore.
-Jumping on the bed is so fun, but don't let Mommy catch you.

And #1.
You should be in the car with me coming home from work and see what happens when the kids hear the garage door opening. It doesn't get any better than that.

1, 2, 3....

I realized the other day that in a couple of weeks I'm going to have a 1 year old, a 2 year old, and 3 year old. That will last for almost 2 months. No wonder I feel like I'm going crazy sometimes. Here's some pictures of the three little kiddies.

Notice Colby's handiwork on the wall behind him?Eva's newest thing is *thumbs up* "Good job Dad!" "Good job Colby!" "Good job Mom!" No idea where it came from.Lilia's starting to let go of things and stand on her own, but NOT when you try to make her. No way Jose.
Also, Happy Valentine's Day!!! Grandma Boise is always so thoughtful and sends little things for the kids on big holidays. For Christmas they each got these piggy banks, so they got some coins to put in them. And lots of candy, of course. All Eva ate all day was sugar, she wouldn't eat anything else.Check out that hair....I don't know what to do with it.

Name the Cat, Win a Prize

About a month ago a friend whose sister died really needed to get rid of one of three cats, so Dana offered to see if one of the would fit in with our family. We brought her over one evening and this is how the voting went. Dana - Yes, Colby - Yes if I can pull her tail, Eva - Yes like her life depended on it, Lilia Yes- if she can put her in her mouth, Quin - Yes if I can sniff her, and Jason - No! So Dana took her back to the friends house. Wait a minute here, how did I just win that one when the vote was 5 to 1? OK, I wont complain about that one.......

Today at work I get a call from Dana..."Hi I saw our neighbor today (for the first time since we tried out the cat) she is good and I told her we would take the cat." What? What happened to me winning this one? Well, to conclude the story. I know have a cat sitting next to me as I type. But we have a small problem here. We need a name. We have never had problems naming our cats before, we had Tubby, Banana, Taco, Rosie, Bubbles, Cuddles and Sparkles. But Don't tell the new cat how many cats we've had, or how long they lived with us. We are crossing our fingers on this one. Not to mention Bubbles our last cat cost about $350 in unsuccessful vet bills.

Anyway, Dana likes the name Sugar, I like Srubbles, to keep with the les at the end theme, and I got the name from a car wash in Pocatello. And I'm sure Eva wants to call her baby kitty or something like that.

Let us know what you think, you could win the prize for the right name. One hint, the prize is white and meows.

Hallelujah!!

This is me every day for the past 7 weeks. That's how long I've been Primary Pres, and for 7 weeks we haven't had a teacher for the Sunbeam class (Or CTR 5, but that wasn't so bad). The Sunbeam class that has 8+ boys (depending on the week) and 2 girls. It is one of the craziest bunch of kids ever. Every single week I've had to ask someone to teach them. Jason taught them for two weeks until he got another calling. I thought they were trying to kill me that week. I think we've used up all of our favors in the first month of the year. One Sunday all but 1 class had to have subs. It was a tough tough first month. The last president had asked for this couple who we all thought would be perfect for the Sunbeams, but they were Relief Society secretary and Elders Quorum counselor, and the bishop did not want to release them. So for a month and half my counselors and I have been praying and thinking and praying some more about who could possibly be called, and we came up with nothing. Then today at church the RS secretary came up to me and said, "The Bishop just called us to be the Sunbeams teachers." AHHHHH!! It's a happy day is all I can say. AND the new CTR 5 teacher was sustained in church today. Now we just need a chorister.
