Colby's New 'do

We were having problems with Colby's hair. I'm always in a rush in the morning to get to the gym in time for my class, and the girls are lucky if they get their hair done. Colby's hair....it never even crosses my mind. He usually has the matted down, sleepy hair. And just in the past few days it's started to look staight because it's so crushed and never combed. So it was time for a haircut and a haircut did he get! Check him out. I had a few people (including Jason) tell me they didn't recognize him at church. It's always sad to see the curls go. I'm a little worried that they might not come back because it was looking so straight, hopefully I'm worrying over nothing.

The other night when I was at class Jason took some pictures of Colby and Eva playing. Eva was Sleeping Beauty and Colby was Spiderman/Prince Charming. He was waking her up with a kiss.....sometimes I can't believe how cute they are.

Kids, Kids, Kids.....

Today Colby and Eva decided it would be super fun to dump two bags half full of crushed up tortilla chips onto the carpet in our front room. That was a pain to get out, let me tell you...in fact, I'm pretty sure it's not all out and we'll be vacuuming up little bits of chips for months. Later today, Eva and Lilia were sleeping, Colby was playing the play room for quiet time, so I went to take a shower (it was like 2:30, don't judge me). After that I went to check on Colby. He wasn't in the play room. I tell him multiple times a day, "For quiet time you need to be in the play room or in your room." So I go check in is room and here's what I found. This happened within about 10 minutes.

I'll just add this on to this post. We had a fun ward activity at a place called Baseball City. Someone in our ward owns it actually. Batting cages, baseball bowling, tee-ball, hot dogs, chips, soda...Colby and Eva had a blast. (And I guess I should add Jason in too, he had a blast.)

Road Tunes

I recently got some new job duties that require me to travel 63 miles to Austin TX 3 times a week. With Trafic it is usually about an hour and 15 minutes. It has only been a week, but I already need some new music to listen to. If you got any hot new albums, or old ones that a music has been hasn't heard, let me know. Dana suggested I get Twilight on CD to listen to. Not going to happen.

Kitchen Remodel done....well, almost

It only took us 8 months, but we have completed the majority of our remodel work in our kitchen. With only a few minor details left to be done. Here is our before and after shots, followed by some of the process. Thanks to My Dad and David for all your help when you were here visiting, and to Dana and the Grandma's for letting me work on the project while they entertained the kids....Now lets get going on those bathrooms! Not.

Billy Mays hits the big time

You May know Billy Mays from such infomercials as Kaboom, Oxi-clean, Orange Glo, and maybe even mighty mend it. But now the hard work has paid off by being on a mockumercial for ESPN. Hilarious.
Love it.

She's Got the Moves

Lilia figured out her favorite type of music. Hip hop baby!! Kanye West was on American Idol the other night and she was rocking out!!! She wouldn't dance very well for the camera, but I got a couple shakes. She also loves to dance whenever Ellen dances at the beginning of her show. Another little dancer.

Staying On the Path

I had my Relief Society birthday dinner last night. We got a copy of a Brue R. McConkie quote I wanted to share. I sometimes get to feeling like I can never get everything right. We all make mistakes, and it's nice to know that just trying counts for something.

We don't have to get a complex or get a feeling that you have to be perfect to be saved. You don't. There's only been one perfect person, and that is the Lord Jesus. But in order to be saved in that Kingdom of God and in order to pass the test of mortality, what you have to do is get on the straight and narrow path--thus charting a course leading to eternal life--and then, being on that path, pass out of this lfe in full fellowship...If you're on that path and pressing forward, and you die, you'll never get off the path. There is no such thing as falling off the straight and narrow path in the life to come, and the reason is that life is the time that is given to men to prepare for eternity...You don't have to live a life that is truer than true. You don't have to have an excessive zeal that becomes fanatical and becomes unbalancing. What you have to do is stay in the mainstream of the Church and live as upright and decent people live in the Church--keeping the commandments, paying your tithing, serving in the organizations of the Church, loving the Lord, staying on the straight and narrow path. If you're on that path and death comes--because this is the time and day appointed, this is the probationary estate--you'll never fall off from it, and, for all practical purposes, your calling and election is made sure.

Daylight Savings, What's That?

The kids were finishing up lunch, church started in 20 minutes. I had to run into the other room when I heard, "Oh crap!" from Jason. (He had just looked at his cell phone.) I had been on the computer earlier and it said 11:45. I knew it wasn't 11:45, so I just thought the computer was wrong. Turns out....it wasn't wrong, and we missed sacrament meeting.
Has that ever happened to anyone else?

My Baby is ONE!

Lilia is one year old today. This morning we went to breakfast. Then, we had this cub scout activity Jason and I both had to help out with. While we were there Lilia started walking!!!!!!! The most she's taken is 2, maybe 3 steps, and today she just took off!!! She even stood up without help of anything (but her own hands) and walked somewhere. CRAZY!!!! That's a milestone I'll remember, on her first birthday. She has been such a dream child. I love this little girl so much. She makes everyone happier just by seeing her. She's always happy, and she's got her big brother and sister wrapped around her finger. And her mommy and daddy, of course. I always say she's my blessing for having Colby and Eva so close together. (Thursday morning she threw her first fit because I wouldn't let her hold her own spoon for her oatmeal-she's not entirely perfect, but pretty close :)
She sort of says 4 words. Dada-(always means daddy), mama-(sometimes means mommy), buh-buh (sometimes means Colby) and ba-ba (sometimes means bottle). Poor Evam her name is too hard to say.
