After I left that garage sale to go home, so Jason could go pick up the couch, I decided to stop by one more. I found Leslie and Alex's bed for the time being. (We're ready for you guys to come back ASAP!)

Isn't it ironic?
Last night I told Jason I was going garage sale-ing in the morning. I've been meaning to go pretty much since we moved here, but never have. I got on craigslist and found a few around me and 8:00 on the dot took off to check them out. You have to be persistent if you go garage sale-ing because people use garage sales to try to sell stuff that they should just take to the dump. I went to (or drove right on by) about 13 of those dumpy garage sales before I hit the jackpot! Wooooo! I got a beautiful green couch for $110 to go with my sweet coffe table.
I had to hagle with the guy for him to hold it long enough for me to run and get enough cash. And his Danish wife put out a bunch of baby clothes, perfect for Lilia for the next year. I mention the Danish because she had tons of high quality European clothes. And can you guess how much each piece was? $1! Ohhhh yeah. That $1/piece included a couple pairs of baby Gap jeans and dress, a pair of brand new chocolate colored Chuck Taylor hi top Converse, a pair Pedi-ped (not cheap, adorable shoes), tons of Gymbo pieces, the list goes on and on! I spent $45...can you blame me? I told Jason I'd sell a few things on ebay and make back the money quick. :)

Good job, I too am looking for a sofa and a chair, but everything here seems to be junk, junk, junk. I LOVE when I come across things that are NICE... but wait, that has only been on Craigslist or eBay. Never, ever, ever have I found a single thing at a yard sale, I normally end up wanting to run far, far away.
Speaking of Euro clothes, this lady on eBay I got some things from a few months ago sent me a box of Baby Zara that I just finished going through (which was SO SWEET of her!) and the quality is the best I have ever seen. The fabric is incredibly soft, though I am not sure how Matt feels about the pink polo. He won't answer and I have asked him like 3 times now what he thinks.
Anyway. GOOD JOB, bargain queen! I wish I was so lucky with the furniture, I still have no place to sit up a bar stool. Everything on Craigslist even is $500 for plaid or velvet flowers. Blech.
Also, so glad to see the red coffee table, I have actually been wondering what it looks like. It is super!
Finally- fall and winter clothes are going really, really well right now- the key to posting Gymbo is knowing the line names. If you need help with that, let me know ;-)
that was supposed to be "no place to sit BUT a bar stool." I think that is why my back hurts so much.
Wow!! that is a great couch. i made the garage sale comment on the colby-lilia post. oh, saw krista moore at the temple tonight. she is expecting #2.
Aren't Ebay and Craigslist the BEST!!! I'm a huge fan... I hate it when I miss out on good stuff, though.
JEALOUS of your finds!!!!!!! seriously good shopping my shopping buddy ;)
The quote I had found just moments before posting it and I thought 'um, nice reality check for when I am so ready to start tomorrow because today sucks!' kind of days!!! I really got something from it, hit me a little hard for sure!
Have a GREAT day! I'm driving all the way to McCall and back for a photo shoot tomorrow, and have another on friday! YAY!!! :)
You have so much more patience than I do!! :)
So, I finally caved in and created myself a blog! Now I can comment and be updated on your life all the time! Isn't it wonderful!! how is everything going in Texas??
Can't wait to break in the new futon. Keep it warm for us...we'll be there soon!
Nice. Find a couch like that for us. The doorway of the room we were going to put our loveseat in is too small, so for now we have 2 chairs in there and we're always fighting over the seats. I think the flooring in that room is the same as the flooring of the picture with the futon in it. Except our walls (and ceiling) are painted yellow. Nice.
