I've been tagged. I'm supposed to tell 7 interesting/odd facts about me. I'm really thinking here...but I might not get 7.
1-I'm kind of a TV junkie. Good thing we have DVR and I can catch up during nap time and stuff, but I have 2 or 3 shows pretty much every single week night. Weekends are TV free for me though.
2-I really want to go back to school. I'm looking into nursing programs around me. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
3-I also really want to open a business. It's on the back burner for now because 1) the economy, and 2) the franchise owner told us we have to be engrained in the community...so maybe once we've been here a year or year and a half. But I might be in school then, so it might have to wait even longer.
4-I'm really liking Texas and the adventure of moving away from home, but I'll always be an Idaho girl. Sometimes I miss Boise so much it hurts. I can't wait for the day we can move back there.
5-Some day my mom and I are going to be on Wheel of Fortune together. Best Friends or Family week-one of those kinds. We've been planning on it since I was young.
6-I am a little obsessive about my kids clothes. I know there are people way worse than me, but I love buying clothes for and dressing my kids. It's getting hard for me since Colby has wanted to start picking out his own clothes. Sometimes I just have to tell him, "You can't wear that." I also love taking them to the daycare at the gym because that means people get to see how they're dressed every day!
7-I feel like our family has another boy that isn't here yet. He's already named and sometimes I talk about him to Jason. I'm hoping next time I have a baby it's a boy so I can be done. Finito.
I can't believe I got seven. That took me a long time....I tag Tina, Shanah, Shauna, Becky, Abby, Crystal, Katie, and Lori. I am only supposed to tag 7, but I picked 8-hehe. You don't have to do it if you don't want to, of course.

Family Trip to Mexico
Our trip didn't start out ideal, but we had such a good time. First of all, check out time at the hotel was noon. We didn't end up getting out until about 1:30...frustration starts. We have to get Mexico car insurance, $70....more frustration, but let's just get there already. Stopping at 2 or 3 gas stations trying to find garbanzo beans and root beer for Leslie...no 2 liters of root beer anywhere? Are you kidding me? More frustration...we finally crossed the border 2 hours later than originally planned. Well at least we're across, and even though getting through town took at least 30 minutes, we're on our way........
We got to this check point 30 miles later where the guy tells us that we have to have some special paper for bringing our foreign car into the country. AHHHHHHHH. We had to drive back to the border and it took about 2 hours of lines and going back and forth, plus $30 more!!!!! AHHHHHHH. So someone please tell me, why do I have to spend $100 to just get into Mexico? Anyone, anyone? Bueller?
Anyway, about 8 hours after we left our hotel and $20-$30 in toll road fees we finally got to Leslie and Alex's. Luckily, the rest of the trip was a breeze and pretty relaxing. Leslie's sister-in-law took us to this Mexican market where I got some pretty sweet kids clothes for 10-15 pesos each ($1-$1.25) and some extra sweet Jordans for Colby that don't fit quite yet.
We went to Monterrey's version of a riverwalk. It doesn't have historic buildings surrounding it, and it's not exactly a river, but because of that the water is really clear and beautiful. I didn't bring my camera....big bummer. Alex got lots of pictures, so I just need them to send me a CD of them. (Will you, please? :)
We ate lots and lots of good foot--Alex's mom (Chila-that's what the grandkids call her) is such a good cook...I'm going to be craving her chiles rellenos. Yummm.
We went for a drive to this canyon surrounded but mountains that go straight up. Leslie says they're really famous for rock climbers.

We also went to the VIP theater there where the seats are pretty much recliners, like you'd have in your living room. And you buy reserved seats, so when you buy food (we got crepes!) they deliver them to your seat. Hah, it was great. The movie was about our only choice...and sadly it wasn't as good. (If you have a chance to see Max Payne...I'd say just pass.)
Colby and Eva really loved it there. Colby's favorite food is now tortillas. Too bad we didn't bring some of the delicious kind you can only get in Mexico home with us. Maybe next time.
Party Time
I realize we're Boise State fans in this house (the number of posts related to it speak for themselves) but this was just CRAZY! Jason's birthday theme should have been Broncos. From me and the kids Jason got a cell phone cover and mail box cover; from his parents he got a license plate cover, shirt, and decorative mini helmet, and his birthday card also--ALL BOISE STATE! He loved every one of them, of course. You can never have too much...or can you?
Anyway, we had cake and ice cream and he opened presents 2 days before his birthday because we were in a hotel the night of his b-day. Lilia got to try cake for the first time (I know she shouldn't be having chocolate until she's 1...) and she had a good time eating it. I think most of it ended up mushed up on the floor or her high chair. Jason got home from work and without me even telling Colby (he'd noticed the cake and I told him it was for daddy's birthday) he ran out into the garage yelling, "Happy Birthday Daddy!!!" So sweet.

I took these pictures the same day-and since I don't want to make a seperate post I'm just putting them on here. Lilia is scooting herself around pretty well. She's always getting stuck under stuff. In this one she scooted herself into the corner of the room. She's such a sweet girl and I love her smile. And a picture of each of the ever-changing kids.

"Who abducted Colby?"
Colby kept trying to open the thousand island dressing, so I asked him if he wanted some salad. Jason got home to Colby was stuffing his face with salad. "Chowing down" would be the right words to use. Jason said, "Who abducted Colby?" Who knew Colby would like spinach!?! Maybe he'll grow up to be like Popeye. I have always been amazed at kids who like salad, now I have one!
This is all that was left. He ate about 2 kiddie bowls full of salad. I still can't believe it.

El Boise Estate Futbol
We got to Monterrey last night, that journey was a whole different story. And we turned on ESPN-Dos, and there were our Boise State broncos en espanol. Crazy! Who ever thought that the broncos could go international. We were all so excited when espn wanted to show a regional game, then a national game, and now im sitting in Mexico watching that little unknown team from Idaho? Times have changed in the bronco nation, we are international now. I guess if their is a broncos game, no matter where we are, we are going to find it!
An insight to the title. In spansh they don't have many words that start with an s. They all have an e in front of the s. So any american word that starts with an s is usually pronounced with an e in front. Go Boise Estate!
By the way, the only college football game on here today is Notre Dame vs Washington, wow, out of al the games on Mexico chooses a team that has won only one game and another that is all hype and no production? Combined record of 5-8? Muy interdesante. What is a college football lover to do? I guess I just might have to get out of the casa and go be enlightened by some culture.

Jason's Had a Birthday-Shout Hooray!

Happy Birthday Jason!! Right now we're in McAllen, TX while Jason is working at one of the locations he's over. The kids and I hung out in the hotel all day, I just didn't feel like oging anywhere. Not sure what that has to do with anything...but Happy Birthday!! (Oh yeah, I remembered, it means I have almost no pictures available.) You deserve a day to celebrate you. You're such a good dad and husband. We couldn't ever ask for anything more. I love you!

Travertine vs. Slate
Jason was supposed to post this, but he's been so busy I decided I better just put it up.
Our kitchen is about 80% finished, I'd say. We got our countertops and new sink in, now we have to finish painting the bottom cabinets and put up backsplash. We're having a hard time decided what kind of tile. We both like how the slate looks, but I'm worried that with no natural light in our kitchen it would make it seem to dark. (We like the travertine too--I can't decide which I like better!) I can't post any pictures of the cabinets, Jason said we couldn't do that until the kitchen was totally done. So, white cabinets, stainless appliances, and the color countertop you see. Tell us what you like!

Kellen Dynamite
"How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?"
Everyone meet Boise State's new star quarterback, Kellen Moore. The best thing to happen to Idaho since those crazy dance moves at Preston High. We look forward to 4 years of Bronco domination led by Kellen Moore. Look out Mountain West, Pac-10, WAC, and BCS.
Silly Daddy
Tonight Jason was getting jammies on the kids, which I brought out for them. He was a little distracted with the TV. (College football, what else?) This was the result. Our camera battery was dead so I had to take the pictures with my cell phone. It's hard to really see it, but Eva is wearing Lilia's jammies, skin tight on her legs and half of her pull up and her belly were sticking out. We were laughing for awhile about it.
What happened....
What should have happened...
What happened....

My Trip Across the Country
I got to go visit Matt, Crystal, Valerie, and Asher in Virginia last week. I had such a great time and was so glad for the chance to get to know Crystal and Valerie better. Asher too, of course! Asher is such a good baby. He reminds me a lot of Lilia. He likes to sleep and hardly ever cries. And when he does it is pretty short and quiet. We didn't do much but hang around the house and hold the baby, but that's what I was there for! (Thanks for letting me come and stay Matt & Crystal, I wish I could do more to help.) Asher looks so much like his daddy. It's so sweet, and Matt is such a good dad, just like I always knew he would be. They are all so excited to have him here and safe. I loved seeing them all so happy because of sweet sweet Asher. Here are some pictures from the trip.
I got a smiling picture!! Can you believe it? I LOVE IT!

Lilia immediately loved all of them! They all got smiles out of her with any look they gave her. Valerie was so good with her, and Lilia especially loved her. (Valerie did Lilia's hair in this picture. She's a natural :)
I am a Child of the 80's...
I got this off my cousin's blog. And by the way...Jem is truly outrageous!

Asher & Lilia
They're friend already. Asher is going to be a funny guy, he's making Lilia laugh and he's only 12 days old.
