A First for Everything

The first today was Jason deciding to adopt a kitty. It has always, ALWAYS, been me that says it's time for another cat. In fact, a couple of months ago one of my gym instructors said she found a cat while out in the country on a bike ride and wondered if anyone would take it in. I told her I might, but I needed to talk to my husband. Jason said, "NO WAY!" So, we didn't get that kitten. But today I had the strangest voicemail. It's Jason and he says, "Gwen at work found a kitten out in the warehouse, so do you want to come pick it up?" WHAT?!? Sad story about Sugar....she was a great cat and the kids liked her, but I think she was sick. She always went outside in the morning when Jason left for work and would be waiting by the window in the front yard letting me know she wanted back in. One day a month or so ago she wasn't waiting by the window and I couldn't find her anywhere in the garage. I was sure she would come back because even though her old home was only a few houses down she never even left our yard, but she has never came back. Since I'm pretty sure she was really sick, I think she went somewhere to die. I'm hoping she's in a happier place now. This kitty is so sweet. I thought it was a girl at first, but now I can't decide. But I am pretty sure it's a Siamese kitten. He/she has the prettiest blue eyes I've ever seen on a cat. Eva loves her, of course. I sat her in front of the food bowl when we got home and she went crazy!! Poor kitty was probably starving from however long she was out on her own. Someone must have dumped her out there, because she is so loving and doesn't seem like she's been without home for too long. We don't know what to name him/her. Not Gerry though, :) I even gave her a bath and she didn't try to scratch me once I started. Keep looking, I had a few posts to put up.

Also a first, the first time I've heard Lilia say "kitty." I can't figure out how to play the video on here. If you click on the last picture you can see the video.

What a sweet family and a good daddy! I think she is going to be GORGEOUS when she gets all better and used to being loved. She looks like she has definitely had a couple rough days. It reminds me of the kitten we found near death in a strip mall 3 days before Christmas. The kitten Matt had cuddled in his lap and I remarked "he is getting a new home as soon as he is well." Whatever. I never win those discussions. She is sweet. I think that kitten looks like a Luckie to me ;-)

Strange, this is dejavu. I could swear you had this same post a year or two ago with this same white cat, but for some reason I'm thinking you didn't keep it because it didn't relate to the kids or something like that. Check back in your archives. I bet it's there. So what about that name - Dejavu.

How does this always happen to you? The universe must know that you will take care of stray cats. I have NEVER come across a stray cat, and if I got that message from Ray, I am a terrible person, I would have to say NO! I don't think Max, or me, could handle another pooping being at our house!
