Regal theaters has a Free Family Film Festival during the summer. If you have a Regal theater in your town, check out this site. They play a PG and G movie at 10am Tuesday and Wednesday (possibly Thursday...?) every week. It's the same movie all week long. We just went to Curious George on Wednesday, and Colby and Eva sat through the whole thing! It's the first movie we've been to in a year and a half, the last movie we went to (Bee Movie at the dollar theater in Pocatello) we lasted about 50 minutes. But if your kids won't sit through the whole thing, that's okay because it's FREE! I'm all about free things. Share the love! Here's the website:

Dear Dana~
they have done this for years and years and girl. It is craziness here! Imagine sacrament meeting with wall-to-wall screaming babies whose parents won't take them out. That is what EVERY FREE REGAL MOVIE IS LIKE here! And!! preschools bring all their kids soooo it is hard to find 2 seats in a row, much less 4 AND Regal has these risers to put on the seats so the kids can see better... well, they ain't so plenitful on free movie day and if you have a child who really wants one, it can lead to full-fledged meltdown right then and there, before the movie even starts.
Anyway. I stay far, far away from free movie day after chaperoning for a summer with Valerie's preschool. Too much stress for me, but you are so patient, it sounds like your theatre is not QUITE so insane. I am all about free too!
Sweet!! Did you get my email about the free summer bowling?
I heard about it last summer, but never before, and this summer was our first time going. It was pretty packed, but there were enough seats that me, Colby, Eva, and my friend and her little boy all had seats by each other, and we got there after it started.
And the theater had stadium seats, so Colby and Eva had no problem seeing the screen.
oh yeah, I got the bowling email! The only one in San Antonio is across the city though. I still might go once or twice.
