Colby got ahold of the camera today...

We're not doing a weigh in this week, because it's not very impressive. But it's been awhile since I updated. Last week was sort of eventful.

Colby is loving preschool. Last week his teacher told me he went all day without putting his thumb in his mouth once. Love that, but it didn't last.

We got Beauty and the Beast in the mail from half.com. Eva loves it. She's watching it for the 4the or 5th time right now. Colby really likes it too.

Lilia had her 18 month check up, and since she missed her 15 month one (I didn't know they'd want to see her then since neither Colby or Eva had a 15 month appt) she had to have 4 shots PLUS the flu shot. It was pretty miserable. She went from 20th percentile to 13th in weight. It concerned me but the doctor didn't seem worried about it at all. She is jabbering all the time. It's so much fun.

I read The Hunger Games series last week. I couldn't put it down. Seriously good books. The kids and house suffered. Now I have to wait until next fall for the last one. But I did some research and found out they're making a movie out of it. (AND Fablehaven is being made into a movie-if anyone cares to know that.)

Our house is still sitting here. In our tiny ward a couple of people have told me its because they're praying for us to stay. Ha. Really, our ward is so tiny and is only getting smaller. Finding people for callings is a challenge.

Yesterday morning I heard Colby put something on the counter and I could just tell it was scissors. He cut a couple of lockets from Lilia's hair. Luckily nothing too drastic. I need to keep those scissors under constant surveillance. I would have been devastated if he'd cut a ton of her hair off.

Jason's still driving all day long it seems like. I'm excited for the day we get to start spending more time with him.

Y'all ready for this?

Week 2It might not look like much as been lost, but oh it has. We've lost a cummulative 16.6 pounds. Next week won't be as exciting, but this week was worth it! I'm dying for an apple or banana are slice of toast. It's coming, it's coming. 1 more week until then. After that I might only update once or twice a month since the results will slow way down. We're on our way to being slimmer people, hah.

A First for Colby

Colby had his first day of preschool today. The only preschools here are run by different churches. My friend introduced me to the one Colby goes to, and he loved it today. He went to a week program this summer, so it wasn't a strange place when he went this morning. He was happy to go and wanted to show off his backpack. I forgot to take pictures this morning, so I took some after we got home, which was after his nap because he fell asleep on the way home. I guess preschool is hard work.
(If you're wondering, Eva isn't punching Colby, she's trying to get him to look up. In the car after we dropped him off she kept saying, "I want to stay at school with Colby!")

South Beach

Jason and I have decided its time to take drastic action. We're starting the South Beach diet today. I figured if I put it on the blog we'd really have to stick to it. I got the book on Saturday and decided it's not really a "diet." The man who wrote the book is a cardiologist from Miami, and he actually created the diet for his patients who were at risk for heart attack. He never planned on it being used as a way to make people look better, just to make his patients healthier. Other people found out about it and started using it and it spread like wildfire. It's all about good fats and no bad carbs. Whole grain foods, olive oil, etc, no white sugar. For the first two weeks we don't get any breads, pasta, rice, beans, FRUIT...so, here goes nothing. We'll take pictures every Sunday night/Monday morning and report back. Go us!

I (really) hate goodbyes.

This morning I dropped my friend and her kids, some of the best friends we will ever have, off at the airport for their big move to Hawaii.
To the Alexanders:
I love you guys and appreciate every minute we've been able to spend with you. Especially the last couple of weeks. You've made our lives better. You won't, and can't, be forgotten. We'll miss you until we get see you again.
P.S. Time to start a blog!!! :)
