Weekly Poll Question

So we had a decent turn out last week, and I think we have established the inferiority of the VHS, no one has watched anything in the last month on VHS. Interesting.

Now this weeks. Given my new climate change, everything to me is based on temperature. So I want to know what is the ultimate water toy. This might be a little unfair since income can be a factor. For me, I'm going with the good old slip n' slide. I cant think of a better summer day than sliding down my belly in the back yard. The attached video will be my backup here.

Valerie would definitely agree with you on the slip and slide- she has the same pimped-out one you have- but I hate to think of the trauma caused if I were to try it out.

I actually have not ventured into bathing suit land since last summer- I am afraid of all the people who would be scared. I did not even wear one last week in Florida, Key West or Cozumel- though it was ten thousand degrees with 200 percent humidity. i did get brace and sit at the edge of the pool in Cozumel waiting for the dolphin swimmers and cool off my flintstone feet though.

Good luck with that heat, seriously! It is funny- you can see how much curlier the hot/humid is making the kiddos' hair.

I love that video. thanks for sharing it again. i have that slip n slide on my back deck. i'll have to get it out for grace, elliot and maggie. i saw the neighbors (McKinlay's) with one out a week or so ago. even the older kids love it.

Update, we just got a pool to cool of in, another favorite would have to be putting a slide in the pool from a swingset and a garden hose running down it. Like one of those fancy slides at the water park.
Good to hear from you Crystal.

Well Jason I think that this will be no surprise to you. I choose the old 88 ski nautique at the nearest lake. I even take this on crappy windy mornings when others (shane and bryce) are giving me reasons why they should still be in bed. There is just no better activity than loading up the the boat with friends, some good tunes, and a diet coke and spending the day at the lake. It always takes the edge off the heat of summer. I do have to admit that cost of the boat far outweighs that of the waterslide but look at it this way. Consider the lifespan of the 2 items; the boat is now 20 years old and I don't know that I have seen a slip and slide last more than a couple of seasons of hard use. The slip and slide can only handle so many people and can offer only the two activities of the SLIP and the SLIDE. The boat can handle loads of people and can offer skiing, kneeboarding, wakeboarding, surfing, baywatch style diving at high speeds, barefooting, and yes even the one of which we do not speak...tubing. if you take all of this into account which one costs the most in the long run. I think there is an economic term for this. I will let Jason or Shane provide that term as I am sure they know what I am talking about. Save up those pennies and add a boat to your family soon.
