Anyone who knows me, knows that behind every stressful situation or uncomfortable moment, there has to be some kind of joke to relieve the tension.
My latest joke is one that I seem to use often, and thought I would share. About a month ago, in a certain house we were living that will remain anonymous, we were eating dinner. Person #1 asked if we had any pickles for the hamburgers. Person #2 responded that they were in the fridge and if you want them, go get them. Person #1 didn't think it was worth the effort, so they ate their burger without pickles. Person #2 about five minutes later then got up and got the pickles out of the fridge and brought them to the dinner table. Person #1 said, "you didn't have to get the pickles for me!" Person #2 said, "maybe you aren't the only one that wanted pickles!" Followed by dead silence for a couple of minutes.
So now, anytime I get upset I say, "you didn't have to get the Pickles for me!" then Dana responds, "maybe you aren't the only one that wanted pickles!" and then we laugh.
I think that has been one way for me to stay positive and happy.
