On to a new poll, but with it comes a story.
When Dana and I first came to Texas to find a house we stayed in two hotels. Both of them had one similarity. A free continental breakfast with those delicious waffles. But these weren't just any waffles. The waffle was the shape of the state of Texas. That was just the beginning of a perfect definition of our new state. There is so much pride here that even the waffles take notice of it.
During our first week here we told Melissa the story and she loved it. So much in fact, that she had to buy us a Texas waffle maker as a house warming gift. Now we have Texas waffles on Sunday morning and Grill cheese sandwiches for lunch on Sunday.
So tell me what is your most favorite breakfast food?
I have a few top choices, breakfast burritos with salsa Valentina is up there, along with eggs, tortillas and refried beans. Don't knock it until you tried it. It is good! Then there is the classic bacon and eggs, pancakes with maple syrup, or french toast. But for me, purely out of the respect for my new state, i am going with the Texas waffle!
FYI: The Day's Inn in Van Horn Texas does not have the Texas waffles. I propose we have the place shut down and burned, unless they agree to add the Texas waffle to their breakfast menu.

Jason didn't add my favorite to the options, cereal! HOLA?! But he used our vote anyway. The Texas waffle is a classic.
Hey, french toast, hello? You even listed it in your blog, but then left it out of the running? And I'm with Dana - cereal is favorite!
I loooove omelets and hash browns!! I always get that when we go out to breakfast!
Although the 44oz Diet Pepsi and pink sugar cookie from Maverick is a close second!!
mmmmm, waffles...I love a warm waffle with syrup more than any other breakfast food on earth. A texas-sized waffle sounds like my own nirvana.
Valerie likes french toast.
My mom would make huevos rancheros with ground chorizo. I do not think they sell that here in Virginia, however. I can always find the really yummy (in small doses) link chorizo at one upscale store, but I have not bought it in years... I bet Matt would eat anything for breakfast. One day I will make him chorizo.
So many choices, it seems you cant narrow down a favorite breakfast food, because they are so many good one. If I had time to have a proper breakfast every morning, I'd be about 800 lbs. Instead I have a costco muffin and a mountain dew on the way to work. Sad. Although I love those costco muffins. Good comments everyone, keep them comming.
I really do have to agree with Abby. My Mom's french toast is the best of all. With a side of eggs and hash browns :)
Jason
come on--idaho hash browns are #1 with onions and green peppers, cooked in a good amount of oil, with bacon, and i also love the ihop version--waffles with banana slices, pecans and maple syrup..yum. however, i really don't love breakfast. eggs don't really do it for me, although i do feel they are one of natures perfect foods.
Because Dana and I are in sync like that, mine is of course - CEREAL. Any and every, though I LOVE sweet cereal.... and I can't believe you are eating a texas waffle :( traitor. (jk)
