Decorate kids bedrooms---CHECK!

Saturday we went to work and worked until 1 in the morning. Colby and Eva slept in the office and Lilia in our bedroom. I finished the painting on Monday. It's worth it because now it's done! I stole an idea I got from some random blog I saw while blog hopping. It's like faux wainscotting (is that what it's called?) Anyway, I knew I wanted the girls room to be purple on top, but could not decide on Colby's. He said he wanted red, so that's what we did. I'm considering changing it, but probably won't. Here it is. And I'm proud to say I figured out placement, drew the lines, measured, cut, and put up all the vertical slats! Go me. Ha. So here they are. (And I uploaded the full size pictures of the final pictures, so hopefully they are click-able.)

Eva & Lilia's room before:During:We (Jason) built that shelf, cute huh? After:

Here is what Jason looked liked after spraying both rooms.

(So the picture thing didn't work, anyone know what I can do so my pictures can be viewed bigger???)

Jason looks good as a white guy! Hee, hee. That is a lot of painting. I need him here when we move in, not that Colin isn't good, Jason just has some serious experience! Me, I have no experience. Love the kids' rooms. I can't wait to paint Mia and Jack's room.

You two are so driven and ambitious!!! Could you send some of that our way?!?? Shane and I always talk about doing house projects and then think..."hmmm...sounds like a lot of work to me. Maybe we shoudn't!!!" Shane said that just thinking about all that you two do makes him tired!!! Anyway, the rooms look DARLING!!! Way to go on that!!! You and your fam are so darn cute!!!

Love the rooms and the picture of Jason. That has me cracking up! Could you tell him to tell Matt how to do the shelves I described exactly this project for Valerie's room a year ago and would like to do the same for the baby's room as well. The bedrooms here are soooo teeny that a wall-length shelf (or perimeter) would free up enough space that Valerie, for one, would be much happier. Plus, I wont mind the lack of clutter so much myself.

PS- in the 3rd picture Eva is sucking her fingers- I have an ultrasound of my baby doing the EXACT SAME THING. That is a Croshaw gene for sure! Valerie did not do that and neither did I or my brothers, but Matt told me he sure did. Can you believe something like that is genetic? Amazing!

I'll go help anyone anywhere, just send me the plane ticket and a limo to pick me up at the airport.
The best thing about this project was that it was a good excuse to buy an air compressor and nail gun. That is payment enough for me.
