Visit with the Fam!

We've had such a great week. Jason's parents and sister have been here since last Saturday and Colby and Eva have ran them non-stop. (Jason has been running his dad non-stop fixing the hole in the kitchen wall-and it looks AMAZING!!!) It's been so much fun. We've had good food, went to the wildlife safari, saw the Alama and Riverwalk, had a great Christmas, got sick with colds (me, then Ernie, then Melissa), and played some Nerts. We are going to be so bored when they leave. It just makes me want to live closer to family. Some day. This week went by too fast.
Patty and Ernie gave me Photoshop Elements for Christmas, it's so much fun playing with pictures! At the top is one of my creations. Here is the original coloring:

There is a whole world of picture editing waiting to be discovered! Jason got a mieter saw (I think that's the name of it) and he loves it. Colby, Eva, and Lilia had so much fun Christmas morning, it's just going to get better from here on out! We were all awake about 7:15, that is when the kids usually wake up, because we didn't want to miss them walking out of their rooms and seeing what Santa brought them. Of course, they decided Christmas morning was the morning they should sleep in until 8:00. This morning it was back to 7:00 though. Crazy kids. Here are the highlights from the past week.

What a Smart Bunch!

I don't know how so many of you guessed it (because it was such a huge shock to me), but I'm the Primary President. I started crying when they announced it in church. I'm such a baby, but I just feel so absolutely inadequate for the calling. I guess I will have to be molded into what I'm supposed to be. Honestly, when the bishop asked me last Sunday I didn't say anything for a little bit because I really thought he was joking. I already had my first official act as president by welcoming our newest member of the ward who was baptized today, and that went well. Hopefully the rest of it will too. Say a prayer for me please!
Jason's family is here for Christmas and the kids are having the time of their lives! When they got back from the airport Colby ran around the house showing grandma Boise every room, and he opened the top drawers of each of their dressers and said, "Here's Eva's pajamas." "Here's Lilia's pajamas!" "Here's my pajamas!" It was hilarious-he was thrilled to say the least.
And the heart is alt+3 ♪ that's alt+13
Here are some Thanksgiving pictures.

Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas!

My gym had a Christmas party type thing last night for the kids club. And the kids had a great time! Even though they didn't really want to talk to Santa and we could only stay for 40 minutes. Although, Lilia was very interested in Santa's beard. It was so much fun. They had this 35 foot "train" that drove around for 5 or so minutes, which Colby absolutely loved-he went twice. They also had crafts that we didn't get around to, and we got to take a picture with Santa.
"Look at the train Colby!"Eva's new thing is to lean into the camera and close her eyes when I'm taking her picture.I ♥ Spectrum!Second time around.
And here are a couple of random pictures that I can never manage to leave out.
Lilia's first try at mashed potatoes.Look at those curls! And just too cute to pass up.

Let's Hear Your Guess!

Dana's got a new church calling.....what do you think it is? I'll post it after I'm sustained on Sunday. The winner will get a big High-Five next time I see them! (and I don't think any of you will guess correctly.)

Who knew 9 months could go so fast?

We have a little baby. I thought that would never happen to us. We're not exactly little people. Colby and Eva have almost always been 90th percentile or higher. Eva took awhile to start growing, and I think 9 months is when she started. I was just not made for nursing and I should have given her a bottle earlier. But Lilia's doctor, at two weeks, suggested I start supplementing her after I nursed her and she would slowly wean herself from the bottle as I made more milk. But that never happened, and I'm totally fine with that. I made a huge mistake trying to tell myself Eva was getting enough and she wasn't. Anyway, Lilia has always had as much as her stomach wanted, and she's LITTLE!
I was trying to find Colby and Eva's stats from 9 months, but I didn't write them down. I do have pictures of them all at 9 months. I think I started giving Eva a bottle at 9 months, so I'm putting a picture of her at 10 months too, after she had chubbed up from a month of formula. Lilia was 27 1/2 inches - 44th percentile and 17lb 4oz - 20th percentile!! I'm still shocked about it after always hearing 95th. At 6 months she was 50th for height and just below 75th for weight. The doctor told us there isn't anything to worry about, that just happens to some babies when they become more mobile.

All in a Days Work

We got home from our great Thanksgiving-with Jason's family and grandparents I'd never met and he hadn't seen in 11 years-in northern AZ yesterday afternoon. (I forgot my camera!!!! Luckily Melissa took tons of pictures, and she's burning us a CD, so when I get it I'll post about the trip.) We got out all the Christmas decorations and had them up by 9 last night. Jason had today off too and put up Christmas lights. In a t-shirt....so weird. But I love Christmas!!! This is my favorite time of the year!! Christmas music, lights, trees, wrapping presents, the scented candles, baking (I'm going to attempt making candy this year)...I love it all. Jason showed the kids his train set he got when he was little. They loved it. Our happy doggy! (Totally random, but has anyone read Marley & Me? I recommend it for all dog/pet lovers/owners. It's made me appreciate Quin more than I ever have.) It is so hard to get a picture of lights in the dark. With the flash it lights up everything too much, without it it smudges. I should use a tripod, but that's too much work. This was the best of, I don't know...20 pictures? :) The leaves are just (within the last week) starting to change colors and fall off the tree...weird, again.
