My parents have a video of me at 2 years old singing and dancing to this exact same song. (Abby, while you're home...do you know how to upload video from a DVD onto a computer?? Mom has changed that Christmas video to a DVD I think.)

Honey what do you want to do tonight? I don't know, maybe punch a whole in the wall?
Sequence of events......
I can't get over how much bigger and brighter it feels in the kitchen! There's still some work to do, but it's great already! You're getting a look at my favorite part of the kitchen--the sink!(Can anyone name that movie on the TV?) - Dana
OK, all you structural engineers. Help me figure out how I am going to put a header over that space without colapsing the whole celling. That is my new jig saw puzzle to work on. That and the electrical involved. - Jason

Haircut Time!
Colby's hair was getting a little mullet-ish looking. So, Jason gave him a haircut this morning. Last time I attempted it it didn't turn out so great....so it was Jason's turn. He always looks so much older when his hair is short! He's such a good boy, he sat there pretty much without complaint (and a few starbursts) and let it happen. And the picture of Eva is to show off her current hair style. She HATES to have it combed, so this is what it looks like this pretty much every day. (If you look closely-and ignore the mess-you can get a tiny peek at the kitchen. Jason's been tearing out part of the wall today! It makes the kitchen so much lighter and roomier already! I'm so excited about it. We thought it was going to be a nightmare-wires, a pipe, and it being a supporting wall, but we expected the wires, and the pipe does nothing and the beams aren't supporting the wall! Phew. Hopefully it'll be done soon and I can post pictures of the whole thing.)

November Shots
Lilia gets around now. She's still mostly scooting on her belly, but she can get to sitting position all by herself. It's so nice! She is content to just lay on the carpet and find her way from toy to toy. Eva and Colby love her so much. All the time Colby will start sucking his thumb, go find Lilia, grab her hand, and cuddle up to her. It's so cute. I think I've posted a picture of it before. Eva is enjoying her real-live baby. It's the greatest feeling to watch them love each other. We're obviously doing something right. Look at those curls on Lilia! Yesterday I was walking towards her to pick her up and clapping at her, and she started clapping!! She totally got it, her hands coming together and everything.
Honey Oatmeal Bread
Honey Oatmeal Bread for your Kitchenaid Mixer
Next time I would change the cooking to 350º for 45 min. The tops got really brown before the middle cooked, so I had to turn down the temp in the middle. And I probably won't add as much butter next time.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog
I'm a big Neil Patrick Harris fan. Not only because he's one of the funniest people on this planet, he does a sweet impresonation of Regis, or not even because he's the youngest doctor ever, but mostly because he's a fellow game show lover! (Little tidbit about him-he really wanted to be the host of America's Got Talent, he would have rocked it.) So why have I not heard about Dr. Horrible before now?!!? Where have I been? You're in for a treat...Hil-arious. (Just a warning, the "p" word is said once, and it's almost 45 minutes long, and you should click on the link if you do want to watch the whole thing, because part of it is cut off on here.)

1 more reason why I like living in Texas
I went to check into my hotel today in Mission TX. The Hostest asked for my name. I told her Jason Delgadillo. And she pulled it up right away. What is the significance of that? She didn't have to ask me how to spell my last name. I cant count how many times that has happened while down here. I love it. It helps make up for all those first days of school.

Who knew that I would like to cook?
Cooking has always seemed like a chore to me. Always. Then the other day my mom added a link to this blog on the family blog. I took a look at it and my whole perspective changed! I've made something new for dinner every night for the past week. And I love it!! Who would have thought? Definitely not me. I think we've had the same 10 meals on rotation since we got married. And it's not only dinner. I've been trying new desserts too, which everyone can appreciate...(the kids don't always like dinner.) It's required a few extra trips to the grocery store since I don't always have everything, but definitely worth it. I think I'll start posting recipes every once in awhile. I'm going to start with Cafe Rio/Costa Vida/Bajio type sweet pork salad I made. It was so good. And since we don't have of those around here, we haven't had it in awhile and thought it tasted just like the restaurants.
Crock Pot Sweet Pork
Marinate pork roast (I couldn't find a pork roast at the grocery store, so I just bought this barbeque style pork and it worked fine, because you shred it eventually anyway) in a can or coke. I got a 2 liter and put the pork in a bowl that it fit in pretty well, then just poured the coke in until it was mostly covered. Do NOT use Diet Coke.
Put pork and coke in crock pot and cook on low for ~8 hours. Directions said to drain coke, but I missed that part and strained what was left in it. I don't know how much it helped, but it turned out so good.
Shred pork and add:
1 can enchilada sauce
2 cloves minced garlic
1 small can diced green peppers
1 cup brown sugar
Cook for 30 min to 1 hour.
Cilantro-Lime Rice
I made this in my rice cooker, but I'll just use the recipe I got.
1c uncooked rice
1t butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1t fresh squeezed lime juice (I uesd Lemon juice, I didn't have any limes-and it was still good, but I'll get a lime next time.)
1 can (15 oz) chicken broth
1c water
1T fresh squeezed lime juice
2t sugar (I used more than that, it wasn't sweet enough)
3T chopped cilantro (I had to leave this out because I didn't have any-and again, it was still good.)
In a saucepan combine rice, butter, garlic, 1t lime juice, chicken broth, and water. Bring to a boil. Cover and cook on low 15-20 min, until rice is tender. Remove from heat. In a small bowl combine lime juice, sugar, and cilantro. Pour over hot cooked rice and mix in as you fluff the rice.
Cilantro Ranch
1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch mix (NOT Buttermilk)
1c mayo
1c milk (called for buttermilk, but I just used regular)
2 tomatillos-remove husk, diced
1/2 bunch of fresh cilantro
1 clove garlic
juice of 1 lime
1 jalapeno (I didn't use this-remove seeds if you don't want it as spicy)
Mix all together in a blender
I had all of these because I went to the store the next day to make it for leftovers. I didn't use nearly that much cilantro-it never turns out good for me if I use too much. Then you warm up a tortilla, put it on the bottom and layer rice, black beans (I just heated up a can on the stove), meat, lettuce (I had spinach, but any other kind would probably be good), sprinkle some shredded cheese, and dressing. YUMM!! So good-as I've said a million times already.

Trick or Treat!
I was going to put this picture up yesterday and forgot. I took it with the flash off and there wasn't enough light, so Eva looks like a ghost.......ooooooooooo........
Colby and Eva got dressed in their costumes in the morning to go to the gym.
Then last night we went to the trunk-or-treat at the church and a little bit of trick or treating around the neighborhood. Colby and Eva had so much fun!! Eva was really shy when we started, but she got the hang of it. Lilia had everybody cooing. Our little chick. They loved all the people that came to our house after we were done. We finally had trick-or-treaters!! In 5 years of marriage we have never lived in a hot spot for trick-or-treating. But we did this year. We gave away almost all of our candy. It was a really fun Halloween with Colby and Eva really getting into it. Lilia even got to eat a sucker Colby let her have.

I forgot to add, it was 85º last night when we were driving to the trunk-or-treat!! SO not something I'm used to!!! I think a few times when I was little we went trick-or-treating through snow!
